Here are the PHOTOS I took on sunday while driving around the area near Baltimore I'm planning on moving to. Note the greenery. Also, this is in the middle of a "drought".
I leave for the airport in 3 hours. Last night was a really good night. I got to reconnect with a side of my family I haven't seen or talked to in 6 years. It was a good time.
I also drove around yesterday, snapping photos of the area so all my non-baltimore friends can see how nice it is here. And by nice I mean green.
I have my Neo with me, and I'll be doing a lot of writing on the flight home. I had two crazy dreams last night, and they need to be recorded.
Also, I have a long, long email to write to my one aunt and uncle, clueing them in on my life the past 6 years.
I'm on my last day here in Baltimore. I leave tomorrow for cali. This visit just cemented the fact to me that I need to live here, or somewhere semi close to here. The family factor is a good thing to have close at hand; I already have a friend base here to work with. Also, the nature aspect is what I enjoy. I'm going to take some pics just while driving around today, to show what I'm talking about here. Basically I feel like I'm driving around the Shire.
Speaking of driving, one other important thing I learned is that, next time, just rent a freaking car. I'm 25, so it wouldn't be terribly expensive. I feel like a burden every time I ask for a ride places. I compensate by buying the person dinner or whatever, but still. Also, the freedom to leave and go someplace on my own is important. Next place I visit, I'll be sure to have some sort of transportation.
Last night I hung out with Snay and some baltimore bloggers, that was pretty cool. Everyone was really nice, I wish I wouldn't have been recovering from the night before. I would have been more social. Oh well.
I've also learned that no matter what anyone says, 'Southern Comfort' is anything but. A better name would be 'Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse'.
I'm leaving for Baltimore, MD on Thursday morning. I'll be there for almost two weeks, going to Ocean City (the Atlantic Rules!) and then seeing a lot of relatives, and relaxing in general. I also want to go to some museums while I'm there, see some artwork. Dope.
And, of course I'm going to hang out with Snay, who reads my blog though he NEVER comments. : ) We'll get our EGBT on. We'll try to hack into all the IP's and take control of the firewalls. All of them. (That was intentionally stupid)
Only thing that's going to make it interesting is, I'm traveling with my grandmother. It won't be bad, but I'm going to feel like a jerk because we only have a 40 minute layover in Las Vegas, and I'm not going to let her go to the bathroom, lol. But there won't be time!
Now to the reason for my post title.. I'm on the fence whether or not I should take my laptop on my trip. I'm definitely bringing my Neo with me, but I don't know about the laptop. I get in thursday night, then friday me and my friends are heading to Ocean City for 4 days, so I wouldn't use it then anyway. I'll be doing a lot of socializing too when I'm in Baltimore, so I don't even know if I will have time for it.. But on the flip side, it's my baby.
Tough call.
I found this song on the internets, although I have no idea who sang it. Gamers will like this song more than non-gamers, but maybe not.
I loves it though. I seriously sing it all the time now.
I warn you, it is seriously catchy.
In the grand tradition of leaving something behind on every trip that I take.. I left my Mach 3 razor at Franks house. Of course I didn't notice this until 1 hour ago. So, I'm a little stubbly here at work.
Who do you think painted this painting? It was done in 1830. I'll give you one hint... it was an American who was known for inventing one thing, but really should be better known for his artwork.
I haven't been to San Fransisco in quite a while, so I'm looking forward to driving there tonight.
I had an idea last night for something that would be a neat way to record my trip. For my entire trip, starting the moment I hop in my car, I'm going to take one photo, every hour, on the hour. I'll try to incorporate where I am, and what I'm doing in the picture. It will force me to take pictures where maybe I normally wouldn't think about pulling out my camera.
So stay tuned..
I just found this. Moo is a cool new printing company that specializes in unique orders. By unique, I mean you can order a 90 mini sticker book, and each sticker is one of your pics! So nifty. They also have minicards, which look like great attention getters. (This could also be handy for cog motive!)
They can tie into your flickr photos or whatever you want. Check it out!
